Hurray!! Pearls have come out of their shell this season. After undergoing a revamp, pearls are now a classic addition to every wardrobe as they symbolize sophistication and elegance.
Traditionally pearls were only adorned by aristocracy. However, the scarcity of cultured pearls and Coco Chanel's groundbreaking endorsement of costume pearls led to an explosion in the popularity of synthetic pearls. Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, two of Hollywood's most esteemed stars also contributed to this trend.
Today, costume pearls are strongly engrained in the DNA of the Chanel Brand. Lagerfield's catwalks continue to showcase pearls as a nod to it's founder. This autumn/winter pearls featured heavily in all the major fashion house collections.
With that in mind, here are a few suggestions on how to inject a dash of pearls into your wardrobe this season.
1: A statement Pearl necklace
Simple pearl necklaces have negative connotations with twin sets and sloan rangers! Avoid this by choosing a statement pearl piece with maximum impact such as the Laveesha Grace necklace. Such pieces are timeless, add that wow factor to an outfit and are a surprising conversation starter!

2: Bridal Jewellery
Pearls are the one gem that are universally flattering to all complexions, making them the ideal choice for bridal jewellery. They are also the most easily photographed gems and will not create flashback on your big day. Pearl jewellery will last long after your wedding day (and perhaps your husband...joke) Simple pearl studs can be incorporated into your work wardrobe after your wedding.
3: Maternity wear
As the saying goes " Jewellery always fits." Family wedding coming up? Strong possibility of Mother in-Law displaying photos of said event for years to come? Don't be haunted by that dress you wish you never bought. Keep it simple with a black wrap dress and some fabulous bling!! The Laveesha Delevigne earrings and necklace are the perfect combo. Need we mention that a statement necklace draws the eyes to the slimmest part of your body (your neck and collarbones).
4: Rock Chick Chic
Love them or loath them rock band tshirts and ripped jeans aren't going anywhere this season. Add a touch of femininity to a rock chick look with an unexpected splash of pearl. For example our statement pearl Laveesha rings.
I hope this inspires you a little this season!
Until next time!
Louise xoxo
